Obverse description High-relief bust of Shalom Aleichem facing three-quarters right dominates the field, surrounded by genre scenes evoking Eastern European Jewish folk life: a fiddler at left, an elderly bearded man with a walking stick at right, and a horse-drawn cart with a seated figure in the lower field. The engraver's initials appear in small relief at the lower right of the field.
