| Description du revers | In the center is a relief of a replica city-coin minted during the reign of Emperor Elagabalus (218-222 AD). Athena, the goddess of wisdom and the science of war, is holding a spear in her right hand and a shield in her left hand. The inscription around Athena in Greek reads `Flavia Yoppas`, as Jaffa was called in Hellenic times. On the rim is the inscription `Coin of Jaffa 3977-82 in Hebrew, as well as the English text and dates 217-222 C.E. |
