| Obverse description | The obverse features three overlapping portrait busts in relief within individual oval frames, identified by inscriptions as Ludvig Holberg (top center, facing slightly right), Henrik Ibsen (lower left, facing right), and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (lower right, facing left).
