Obverse description The obverse features three overlapping portrait busts in relief within individual oval frames, identified by inscriptions as Ludvig Holberg (top center, facing slightly right), Henrik Ibsen (lower left, facing right), and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (lower right, facing left). Allegorical figures — a seated woman with a mirror, a woman with a mask, and a figure with a harp — are depicted among palm fronds and foliage in the field between the portraits. A circular legend runs along the inner border, with the engraver's signature Iv. THRONDSEN F. in the lower exergue.
