Obverse description Enthroned effigy of King Béla IV in high relief, wearing a crown and holding a sceptre, accompanied by a kneeling figure and the Hungarian coat of arms in the background. Two enlarged denár coins of his reign are depicted in the left field, one bearing the legend BELA REX and the other inscribed OBULUS. The curved legend arcs along the upper rim.

Reverse description The Hungarian coat of arms in high relief at centre, flanked by two angels supporting the Holy Crown of Hungary above it, all within a wreath of laurel branches in the lower field.
