Obverse description The medal features a relief depiction of Buckingham Palace occupying the central field, against a mirror-polished background with a teal-coloured upper segment. A gold-plated 1967 British halfpenny coin insert is affixed centrally, displaying the golden sailing ship (Golden Hind) design of the reverse. The legend 'GREAT BRITAIN' arcs across the upper border and 'HALF PENNY 1954-1970' along the lower border.
