The peripheral legend arcs around the upper portion of the medal, with the engraver's signature F. BOWCHER visible in the lower right field.

Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of the City of Salisbury, Rhodesia, displayed centrally in relief with ornate scrollwork surround and a helmet and crest above. A ribbon scroll at the base bears the motto DISCRIMINE SALUS. The peripheral legend arcs around the upper and lower portions of the field.
