Obverse description Conjoined crowned busts of King George V and Queen Mary facing left in high relief, both wearing coronation robes and crowns. The circumferential legend reads KING GEORGE V & QUEEN MARY, with the maker's signature W.J.D. B.HAM incused in the lower field. The medal is fitted with a suspension loop at the top.

Reverse description A large rectangular banner or scroll in the centre of the field bears the full Latin royal titulary and coronation date in multiple lines of bold relief lettering. Above the banner, a radiant imperial crown is flanked by two crossed sceptres, all surmounted by radiating sunrays. The entire design is enclosed within a wreath of laurel and olive branches tied at the base, with the maker's mark W.J.D. B.HAM inscribed at the lower edge of the banner.
