Reverse description A mourning female figure, representing Britannia in classical drapery, leans in grief against a large funerary urn set upon a pedestal, her head bowed and resting on one hand. A Union shield lies at the base of the pedestal. The engraver's signature KIRK F. appears on the pedestal. The circular Latin legend runs around the upper field, and three lines of commemorative inscription recording birth and death dates appear in the lower exergue.
