Reverse description Two standing female figures, Britannia on the left holding a caduceus and Hibernia on the right holding an olive branch, clasp hands in the centre of the field in a gesture of union. Between them, a Union shield and an Irish harp shield rest on the ground, with a naval scene visible in the background. The engraver's name C·H·KÜCHLER·FC· is inscribed along the lower field, and the date 1·JAN·MDCCCI· appears in the lower exergue below a decorative floral ornament. The legend arcs around the upper border.
