Reverse description A classical flaming altar or brazier on tripod legs with serpent decoration occupies the centre of the field, flanked on either side by townscape vignettes representing English and German cities in low relief. Radiating sunbeams emanate from above, partially obscured by a cloud at the top, and the date legend arcs across the mid-field. The maker's name KEMPSON appears in the lower exergue.
