Obverse description Two allegorical female figures, representing Britannia (left) and Hibernia (right), stand facing one another and jointly grasp a fasces entwined with an olive branch, with a pyramid rising behind them. Between them at centre, a small winged figure of Erin leans against an Irish harp, and a Union shield is displayed in the lower field, flanked by a cornucopia at lower left. The engraver's name HANCOCK appears in the lower field, and the date 1800 is inscribed in the exergue.
