| Descrizione del dritto | Allegorical scene in high relief depicting a robed figure (the Speaker of the Irish Parliament) presenting a cap of liberty to Hibernia, who holds a harp; flanking figures representing Industry and Law stand to the left, while a group of senators appears to the right before a column. A winged Fame flies above carrying two scrolled banners inscribed CXXIV and ERGO TVA JVRA MANEBVNT. In the exergue below a ground line, a vulture and a wolf are depicted amid scattered objects, symbolising tyranny vanquished. A Latin legend runs around the border, and the medal is fitted with a suspension ring at the top. |
