Obverse description High-relief bust of Friedrich von Schiller in right profile, depicted in 18th-century attire with a ruffled cravat and coat. The legend arcs around the field on both sides of the effigy, with the maker's signature ALLEN & MOORE incused at the lower truncation.

Reverse description A large ornately decorated bell suspended from a crossbar occupies the center of the field, flanked by a wreath composed of cypress and olive branches tied with a ribbon at the base. The legend MORTUOS PLANGO arcs around the upper field, and the dates NATUS 1759, OBIT 1805 appear in the lower field beneath the bell. The publisher's name is incused at the very bottom rim.
