Obverse description Laureate bust of King Frederik VI facing right, with ribbon tied at the back of the neck, in high relief against a plain field. The engraver's signature C. CHRISTENSEN appears below the neck truncation. The legend is divided to either side of the effigy.

Reverse description A mourning veiled female figure, representing Dania, seated to the left with her head bowed, her right arm resting on a funeral urn atop a tall pedestal. A sceptre rests against the pedestal, and a crowned shield bearing the arms of Denmark lies at her feet. The circular legend is arranged around the upper field, with a three-line inscription in the exergue.
