The gold rim bears the legend MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO arching above and FRANCISCUS P.M. below, with the date 13. III. 2013 to the left and four small gilt emblems — including the Chi-Rho monogram, papal coat of arms, IHS sunburst, and Lamb of God — arranged symmetrically around the border.
