| Obverse description | The field features seven beaded medallions arranged around a central medallion bearing the bust of Pope Gregory XVI in left profile, surrounded by his legend. The six surrounding medallions each contain the bust in profile of one of the Belgian bishops active in 1834, identified by legends bearing their names and titles. Between the medallions, the heraldic arms and episcopal mottos of their respective sees are depicted in relief. |
