| Obverse description | Central field displays the Festival of Britain emblem — a polychrome enamelled compass-star or Britannia symbol in red, white, and blue enamel set against a radiant sunburst background in yellow enamel, with the date 1951 flanking the lower portion of the central device. The design is framed by a laurel wreath in relief and surmounted by a Tudor crown, with the curved legend below in white lettering on a blue enamelled band. A suspension ring and clasp are affixed at the top. |
