Obverse description Standing armored figure of Germania in high relief at center, wearing a plumed helmet and breastplate, resting her right hand on a downward sword and extending her left arm. She is surrounded by symbolic military and industrial motifs: a sailing warship and a hot-air balloon to the left, a fortress tower behind her, and artillery cannons with a railway bridge to the right. The engraver's signature appears in the lower exergue.
