Obverse description Bust of Friedrich Wilhelm I, King of Prussia, facing slightly left in military attire, rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The circular legend around the periphery reads KÖNIG FRIEDR. WILHELM I. V. PREUSSEN, flanked by the regnal dates 1713 and 1740 to either side of the effigy. A beaded border frames the design.

Reverse description The elaborate coat of arms of the Kingdom of Prussia displayed at centre, featuring the Prussian eagle on a shield beneath a royal crown, supported by two armoured figures and flanked by ermine-lined mantling. A ribbon banner below bears the legend KÖNIGREICH PREUSSEN and SEIT 179-, with a Maltese cross ornament at the base of the field. The fineness mark .999 appears at the bottom, and a beaded border frames the entire design.
