| 正面描述 | Central view of the Liège column surmounted by a coat of arms, flanked on either side by the heraldic crests of the Liège consuls Vorrdt Cortenac and Thier de Walhorne. The date 1714 appears as the primary legend in the field. Additional references to Zu Witt 1778 and Zu Weiler 1603 are incorporated into the design, providing historical context within the composition. The overall artistic treatment reflects the baroque medallic style associated with the early eighteenth-century Liège civic tradition. |

The Hôtel de Ville of Liège, built largely in the 15th and 16th centuries, has been a recurring subject for Belgian commemorative casting — original struck and cast medals celebrating the building appeared across several periods, and restrikes in bronze were produced to meet collector demand without the pretense of originality. Cast restrikes of this type typically show slightly softened detail relative to the parent piece, a consequence of metal shrinkage through successive generations of molding.
