| Obverse description | Highly detailed battle scene depicting a tank with crew in the foreground, paratroopers descending and aircraft in the background sky, and a town visible to the right. At the top of the field, a spread eagle perched above a cross within a wreath. Flanking the central composition are two heraldic shields, the left bearing a German eagle and the right an American eagle. A steel helmet rests at the bottom of the field, and an oak leaf wreath borders the rim. The legend curves along the upper border in Gothic script. The engraver's signature P.P. STEINER appears in the left field. |
