| Reverse description | The crowned coat of arms of the Congo Free State (a golden lion on a blue and gold field surmounted by a star) is displayed centrally, flanked by two circular medallions on laurel branches: the left medallion bears a bearded portrait bust in profile with a surrounding legend, and the right medallion bears the inscription CAMPAGNE ARABE 1892-1894 within a wreath. Decorative foliate scrollwork fills the upper field. The main legend INAUGURATION DU MONUMENT DHANIS / 12 Oct · 1913 is inscribed in the lower field, with the engraver's signature A. MAUQUOY in the lower right. |
