Reverse description Central oval cartouche bearing the inscriptions ACTES DE DEVOUEMENT and the recipient's name CHABALET FIRMIN with the year 1855, framed by the circular legend MINISTERE DE L'INTERIEUR. Flanking the cartouche are two allegorical standing figures in high relief: a male figure with a lion to the left and a female figure with a child to the right, each standing on a plinth inscribed COURAGE and HUMANITE respectively. Decorative foliate and floral ornaments fill the lower field.
