Obverse description A left-facing bust of Mercury wearing a winged petasus occupies the upper portion of the field, flanked by the words INDUSTRIA / COMERCIO to the left and AGRICULTURA / MINERIA to the right. The lower two-thirds of the field bear a bold multi-line inscription commemorating the founding of the Banco de Chile on 1 January 1894.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a detailed high-relief view of the Banco de Chile headquarters building, rendered with neoclassical architectural features including columns, arched windows, and a central dome. Below the building, a horizontal line separates the legend in two lines; the engraver's signature R. THENOT, the mint mark S, and the Roman date MCMXLIV appear in small characters at the bottom of the field.
