Obverse description The obverse features a central scene within a rope border depicting a colonial-style stone house, a family group standing beneath a large tree, and in relief at lower left, a circular inset reproducing the Higley copper 'Value Me As You Please' token with a deer motif. The founding date 1670 appears in the lower field, with the initials A.H. to the right. The legend SIMSBURY arcs across the top and CONNECTICUT across the bottom, both flanked by laurel sprays.
