Obverse description The field features two oval portrait medallions in relief: on the left, a bust of Charles of Lorraine (labeled LOTHARINGIAI KÁROLY) in armor with long curled hair, and on the right, a turbaned Ottoman commander identified as Abdurrahman Pasha. Between and around the portraits, the inscription commemorates the 16th itinerant assembly of the Hungarian Coin Collectors Association on the 300th anniversary of the recapture of Buda, dated 1986 August 30, with the abbreviation MÉE·MNT at the base.

Reverse description The reverse depicts a panoramic view of the city of Buda with minarets and towers along the upper portion of the field, representing the Ottoman-era skyline. In the lower half, two mounted warriors engage in combat on horseback in dynamic high relief. The legend BVDA·1686 appears in the exergue, with an engraver's monogram below it.
