Obverse description Two allegorical figures face each other in high relief: Justice, crowned with a laurel wreath and holding a sword, stands to the left, while Mercury, wearing his winged petasus and holding a caduceus, stands to the right. Between them, both figures jointly hold a balance scale, symbolising the union of commerce and justice. The engraver's signature R.COCHET appears in the right field.

In the lower field, two clasped hands in a handshake motif are depicted in relief below the vessel.
