Obverse description Conjoined left-facing busts of the Flemish painters Hubert and Jan van Eyck in high relief, both wearing period headwear and fur-trimmed garments. A circular legend surrounding the field records their birth and death dates and birthplace, with a small engraver's signature visible at the lower right of the busts.
