Obverse description Left-facing bust of Empress Eugénie in high relief, her hair elegantly dressed and gathered in a chignon with curled locks at the nape. The legend arcs around the upper field, and the engraver's signature CAQUE. F appears in small letters below the truncation. A suspension loop is present at the top of the flan.

Reverse description A detailed perspective view of the Palais de l'Industrie, Paris, showing its grand façade with arched entrance, colonnades, and iron-and-glass roof structure, flanked by trees. The legend PALAIS DE L'INDUSTRIE arcs along the upper border, while a six-line text in the exergue records that these medals were struck within the building using a monetary press by the firm Cail & Cie during the Exposition Universelle of 1855. The publisher's signature (ETAIN) MASSONNET EDITEUR appears at the foot of the design. A suspension loop is present at the top of the flan.
