Obverse description In high relief, a male sower in antique dress strides forward across a ploughed field, scattering seed with his right hand while carrying a gathered cloth in his left. In the middle ground to the left, an ox is visible, and to the right a ploughman guides a plow; a windmill appears in the distant background. The engraver's signature J. LAGRANGE appears in the exergue, with a beaded border encircling the design.

Reverse description A wreath composed of wheat ears, vine leaves and bunches of grapes, and oak leaves frames a central recessed field engraved with the recipient's name and year. At the top of the wreath, the heads of a horned cow and a ram flank a caduceus; at the bottom, an agricultural cart with a spoked wheel anchors the composition. The circular legend surrounds the wreath along the rim.
