Obverse description A stylized castle with three towers enclosed within a square linear border, the central tower rising prominently above the flanking turrets, each adorned with battlements rendered in a bold, simplified style characteristic of Castilian medieval coinage. A crescent is placed in the gateway or above the towers, serving as the distinguishing mintmark of this emission. The surrounding field bears a circular Latin legend. The overall design is executed in a crude but vigorous hammered style typical of 13th-century Iberian billon issues.
