Obverse description Central field bears the Arabic word 'عام' (meaning 'Year') in bold relief above the Hijri date '1320' in large numerals, all contained within a raised inner circle. The intermediate border features an elaborate interlocking geometric key-pattern frieze, characteristic of Moroccan Sharifian coinage of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The outermost border consists of a fine dentilated rim encircling the entire design. The overall composition is aniconic and purely epigraphic in the Moroccan Islamic tradition.
