| Obverse description | King Philippe IV enthroned facing, crowned and robed in royal regalia, holding a sceptre topped with a fleur-de-lis in his right hand and a hand of justice in his left, set within an ornate Gothic quadrilobe frame decorated with fleurs-de-lis at the cusps. Fleurs-de-lis adorn the field in the spandrels between the quadrilobe and the inner border. The circumferential Latin legend reads: + PHILIPPVS: DEI: GRA: FRANCHORVM: REX, separated from the central device by a beaded inner circle. |
