| Obverse description | Central field depicts a stylized standing figure rendered in the crude die-cutting style typical of medieval South Indian copper coinage. The figure appears to hold an object, possibly a five-petalled flower or bunch of plantain, in the left hand. Surrounding the central motif are globular pellets and incuse decorative elements distributed across the irregular flan. The design is executed in low relief with bold, summary lines characteristic of Chola-period base metal issues. |
