Obverse description Central device depicting the standing figure of the royal umbrella (chattra) flanked by attendant symbols, with a row of orbs or globular devices surmounted by a crowned canopy above. To the left, a trident-like symbol is visible in the field, while to the right a floral or lotus rosette motif appears. The composition is rendered in the characteristic schematic style of Chola copper coinage, with boldly struck but irregularly formed devices typical of hammered production.
