Beschrijving voorzijde Crude hammered silver flan displaying a stylized abstract device in the central field, consisting of a prominent circular pellet or boss set within a radiating linear design suggestive of a highly schematized animal or symbolic motif. Multiple incuse lines extend from the central element toward the coin's periphery, a characteristic feature of late medieval Indian tribal coinage. The surface is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with primitive hammered technique. No legible legend or inscription is present. The overall style reflects the debased schematic tradition common to Paramara regional issues of the early twelfth century.

Beschrijving keerzijde Plain hammered silver reverse exhibiting a single bold vertical stroke or line dominating the central field, flanked by faint subsidiary marks or pellets near the edges. The surface is flat to slightly concave with typical die-sink irregularities associated with hand-struck coinage of this period. No inscription or legend is discernible. The minimalist reverse design is characteristic of the Paramara Vidarbha mashaka series, where symbolic linear devices served as the primary identifying elements. The flan edges are irregular and show natural flow marks from the hammering process.

Aanvullende informatie

The Paramara presence in Vidarbha — the eastern Deccan region roughly corresponding to modern Maharashtra's Nagpur division — represents a secondary branch of the dynasty, distinct from the more celebrated Malwa Paramaras of Dhara. Bhoja Deva of this line ruled during a period of sustained Chalukya pressure from the south and Yadava encroachment from the west, leaving his administration chronically cash-strained. The mashaka denomination itself reflects this: a fractional unit so small it served essentially as the lowest practical denomination of account in regional trade.
