Obverse description Central shield bearing a displayed imperial double-headed eagle, superimposed upon a bold cross whose arms extend to the beaded inner border, dividing the surrounding circular legend into four sections. The shield is rendered in the late Gothic heraldic style typical of late 15th- to early 16th-century Hanseatic coinage. The legend, in uncial Gothic script, runs between the beaded inner and outer borders, incorporating the date 1502.
