Obverse description The obverse features a composite architectural scene in high relief depicting the Zagreb Cathedral with its twin Gothic spires on the left and the Basilica of Marija Bistrica on the right, surmounted by papal crossed keys and tiara above a cross with a Marian monogram. To the right stands a crowned figure of the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child. The inscription ZAGREB appears vertically on the left, and MARIJA BISTRICA / 3 OCTOBRIS 1998 is inscribed in the lower field. An engraver's signature appears at the lower right.

Reverse description The reverse presents a right-facing bust of Blessed Aloysius Stepinac in high relief, rendered in a textured sculptural style against a striated background. An arched legend BEATUS ALOYSIUS STEPINAC runs along the upper rim, flanked by the dates 1898 and 1998 to the left. In the lower right field, Stepinac's episcopal coat of arms is depicted on a shield surmounted by a bishop's mitre, bearing the Alpha and Omega symbols. An engraver's monogram appears at the lower center.
