The effigy is rendered in high relief with detailed lace or ruffled collar visible at the truncation. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait, reading MARIA . THERESIA . D:G:REG:HUNG:BOH:, identifying her as Queen of Hungary and Bohemia by the Grace of God. The piece is a fantasy or souvenir issue inspired by the thaler coinage of Maria Theresia, struck in brass rather than silver. |
