| Reverse description | Central device features a rampant lion passant to the left, crowned, rendered in the bold and somewhat schematic style typical of Enrique IV hammered coinage, set within a double beaded inner circle. The lion's foreleg is raised and its tail curls upward, filling the field. The circumferential Latin legend surrounds the device between the inner and outer beaded borders. The striking is irregular, consistent with the hand-hammered production technique of mid-fifteenth-century Castilian mints. |
