| Obverse description | Irregularly shaped hammered copper flan displaying a bold six-pointed asterisk or star ornament in the central field, flanked by Arabic legends arranged around the periphery. The inscription records the mint name Constantinople (Kostantiniyye) and the regnal year 963 AH in angular, hand-cut Arabic script. The surfaces exhibit characteristic unevenness and die-shift typical of Ottoman hammered mangir coinage. The overall fabric is crude but consistent with the provincial striking standards of the reign of Süleyman I. |
