Obverse description Central field bearing the sultan's titulature in Arabic script, arranged within an ornamental knot motif. The legend reads 'Murad ibn Muhammad Khan', identifying the ruler as Murad II, son of Mehmed I. The inscription is struck on a roughly flan typical of hammered Ottoman copper coinage, with irregular edges and uneven surface relief. The Arabic characters are displayed in a bold, cursive hand characteristic of early fifteenth-century Ottoman epigraphy.
