Obverse description Hammered copper flan of irregular round form bearing a multi-line Arabic legend disposed across the field. The inscription, struck in relief against a granular, oxidised copper surface, reads the sovereign's name and patronymic in the characteristic early Ottoman epigraphic style. The lettering is bold and angular, typical of the Bursa mint's output during the late 14th century, with the legend filling the available field without an enclosing border.
