| Obverse description | Crudely struck irregular copper flan bearing the sultan's name in Arabic script, reading 'Mehmed Murad' in two lines within the field. The inscription is rendered in a bold, somewhat informal naskh hand typical of small Ottoman copper coinage of the mid-fifteenth century. The legend occupies the central field with no border or decorative elements visible. The surfaces show characteristic irregular striking with areas of weak relief due to the hand-hammered technique. The overall appearance is consistent with contemporary mangir coinage struck under Mehmed II. |
