Obverse description Hammered copper flan of irregular round form exhibiting a heavily patinated green-brown surface. The field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in archaic naskh script, arranged within a simple linear border. The inscription, typical of early Ottoman mangir coinage, occupies the entirety of the flat field with no subsidiary decorative elements. Die centering is approximate, consistent with the hand-struck production methods of the period. Considerable corrosion and surface encrustation partially obscure the lettering.
