| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents an equivalent layout to the obverse, dominated by the large central Kanji character '文' (Bun, abbreviating Bunsei) struck in bold raised relief against the darkly toned, irregularly contoured billon field. The Daikoku hat (eboshi) mark is prominently positioned above the main character, with flanking Daikoku mallet and secondary emblems visible on either side, mirroring the obverse arrangement as expected of this double-struck hammered type. Additional assurance Kanji characters appear in the lower field, their detail somewhat compressed by the irregular planchet surface. The overall strike displays the hallmark uneven depth and surface texture intrinsic to hand-hammered mameitagin coinage produced at the Edo-period Ginza. |
