Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the rampant crowned Bohemian lion faces left, rendered in the bold, slightly crude style characteristic of hammered small coinage of the late Rudolf II period. A rosette ornament appears at the top of the inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend encircles the design, reading RVDOL II D G R I S A G H B REX, identifying Rudolf II by his imperial and royal titles. The overall strike is irregular, typical of small-denomination hammered silver of the Joachimsthal mint.
