Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, the rampant Bohemian lion with double tail faces left, its crowned head turned forward, rendered in a vigorous late-Renaissance style. A circular legend surrounds the design, carrying the abbreviated titles of Rudolf II in Latin. The legend is divided by small ornamental stops and runs continuously around the coin's periphery.
