| Beschrijving keerzijde | The emperor stands facing, head turned slightly to the right, in full military attire, holding a labarum (Chi-Rho standard) in his right hand and a globus cruciger in his left, symbolizing Christian imperial authority over the world. To either side stands a captive barbarian figure, each rendered in a submissive posture at the emperor's feet, alluding to Roman military victory. The circumferential legend GLORIA ROMANORVM frames the scene, while the mint mark SMKA appears in the exergue, identifying the first officina of the Cyzicus mint. The field and style are consistent with the standardized late Roman AE2 coinage of the Theodosian period. |
