| Obverse description | Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Decentius facing right, rendered with finely striated hair swept back from the brow. The emperor is depicted in military attire, with the paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The circumferential legend reads D N DECENTIVS NOB CAES in Latin capitals, partially legible around the coin's edge. The portrait exhibits the robust, naturalistic style characteristic of mid-fourth-century western Roman die-cutting. |
